How it All Started
The resources box started as a hobby many years ago when my autistic daughter started school, she struggled social-emotionally and accidentally.
As a mother I made a few resources for her to ease her day(and mine), schedule boards, time tables, chore and behaviour charts and these really help her. Over time I had other parents ask where I had purchased my resources from, my answer “I made them”.
Within a year I was making resources for friends and friends of friends, we then started on Trade Me and Sella, due to an increase in fees over the years we decided to take the plunge and open our own online shop. The Resources Box was born.
Who am I?
My name is Kelly I have 3 children 6, 9 and 11, my 6 year old has learning difficulties and my 11 year old is autistic. We moved to NZ when they were younger to start a new life together with my husband.
In the UK I completed extensive training and qualification in Early Childhood Education; I worked in many preschools and primary environments including special needs/education. In total I have gained 16 years experience in ECE (Early Childhood Education) and SEN (Special Educational Needs) and I continue to do so working with my own children and parents of children I work with through The Resource Box

3) Supplying specialist resources previously unavailable in New Zealan
4) Ensuring are resources are reasonably priced so they are available to all
Homeschooling
School does not suit all children and/or all parents, so now I home school all 3 of my children. Yes this is perfectly legal in New Zealand and on the increase.
